SHILLONG, NOV 28: Semford B Sangma was appointed as the NPP state working president for Meghalaya during the convention of the Garo hills district convention of the party on November 26 held at Hotel Polo Tower
The meeting was attended by Conrad K Sangma, Tura MP and NPP national president along with Thomas A Sangma national general secretary, Dr WR Kharluki state president, Dr CR Lyngdoh state general secretary, James K Sangma MLA, Nihim D Shira MLA, Denang T. Sangma CEM GHADC, Boston Marak chairman of GHADC, MDCs, former MLAs, former MDCs, district and block units of the NPP and other party frontal organizations.
Conrad Sangma spelt out the purpose and intentions for holding the district convention during his inaugural address. He urged the participants to come out with positive suggestions to strengthen the party.
Dr Kharluki also appealed to the party workers of Garo hills to work unitedly to strengthen the party keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections.
He said he was confident that the NPP was going to lead the next government in Meghalaya going by the present enthusiasm and positive feedback from the people from across the state.
All the participants spoke at length about their respective constituencies, districts and blocks highlighting challenges and problems and at the same time giving suggestions.
