SHILLONG, SEPT 3: Decomposed bodies of two security guards were recovered from Mawiong-Rim on Thursday morning and police suspects that they were murdered before being dumped.
East Khasi hills SP (city) Vivek Syiem informed that the deceased have been identified as Emmanuel D Sangma (21) and Aminson A Sangma (22), who were working as security personnel in the Unique Security Service (USS).
He said after a three-hour search, the bodies which are in a decomposed state were recovered from behind the Toyota showroom, the same building where the barrack which the deceased were staying was located.
One of the bodies was covered with a blanket but both the bodies were also covered with mud due to landslide.
According to him, the search was conducted after a missing report was filed by the sister of Emmanuel D Sangma on August 13. Besides the two, another security personnel is also missing.
A day before they went missing, Rs 4000 was given to them to handover to a female colleague.
Before the search operation, Syiem said, “We had gone to the barrack to inquire regarding the whereabouts of the three personnel but were shocked to notice blood stain in the room.” He informed this made the police suspect that they have been murdered and immediately started conducting the search operation starting from the place.
He said police suspects that the third security personnel who has gone missing is behind the crime.
He informed, “We have registered a murder case under Section 302 of the IPC and investigation is on.”
The bodies were taken to the morgue at the Shillong Civil hospital and the postmortem examination will be conducted tomorrow.- By Our Reporter
