A search committee constituted by the Social Welfare department has shortlisted names of four persons for appointment of the new chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW).
Informing this on Friday, Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh said that a decision on the four names will be taken after a meeting with the chief minister Conrad K Sangma.
“Now that the four names have been suggested by the search committee, I will be sitting with the chief minister and after confabulation with him, we will be in a position to share this information with you (on appointment of a new chairperson),” he said.
Lyngdoh also maintained that the process only involved the appointment of a chairperson and not the other members of the Commission as they are yet to complete their tenure.
