SHILLONG, NOV 12: The Supreme Court has decided to take a final call on the ongoing ban on coal mining imposed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in Meghalaya on December 4.
Sources informed that the apex court has fixed December 4, for final hearing of all matters including the ban on coal mining in the state.
After the hearing, the court has also decided to defer its order regarding the plea to allow transportation of extracted and assessed coal.
Earlier, the counsel for the state informed the court about the remaining quantity of coal which is 1,76,000 metric tonnes which is yet to be transported.
