SHILLONG, SEPT 4: Meghalaya chief secretary WMS Pariat inaugurated the e-corner of the State Bank of India (SBI) at its Shillong main branch at MG Road on Wednesday.
The SBI e-corner is a state of the art technology which has several features and customers can avail all the facilities of ATM, cash deposit machine and self service kiosk under one roof for hassle free banking experience.
With the opening of the e-corner customers now no longer need to stand in long queue to deposit money in their account as they can deposit money as well as update and transfer their funds by using their ATM cards in the e-corner
Lauding the SBI, Pariat implored on the bank customers to use the services 24×7. He also said that the objective of the e-corner is to go cashless and this initiative would go a long way in benefitting people.
The unique feature of the e-corner is that it will be opened 24 X7 and customers can use the services at any time of the day or night.
Chief General Manager, SBI local head office from Guwahati Rajnish Kumar said that the bank came up with the idea of e-corner as it felt that all facilities of the bank should be under a single floor and which should also beneficial from the security point of view.
According to Rajnish, the banks in northeast are lucky as the customers from the region are tech-savvy and will make the optimum use of all the e- facilities given to them,
Rajnish also said that with the e-corner workload and congestion in the banks will reduced drastically and this new initiative of the bank is expected to protect the environment since it would facilitate paperless banking.
Later, a traditional Khasi dance was also presented for the dignitaries who were present on the occasion. Apart from bank’s employees and official, general manager network II, SBI local head office, Guwahati Farooque Sahab and the SBI Shillong branch AGM D Guru Raja Rao were also present on the occasion.– By Our Reporter
