SHILLONG,MAR 7: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma left for Delhi to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi and get her approval on the eleven names to be inducted in the council of minister.
Sangma is likely to induct members of his cabinet on Tuesday.
The problem for Sangma is that there are too many aspirants looking for a cabinet berth as the Congress has as many as 29 legislators in a 60-member Meghalaya assembly.
Sangma told reporters on the sideline of the oath taking ceremony of the new legislators on Thursday that it would be improper to reveals the names of those legislators who will be inducted into the ministry before Sonia Gandhi approves the list.
Meghalaya can have only 12 ministers, including the chief minister, in the cabinet.
All the eleven ministerial berth, besides that of the chief minister, will be filled up by the Congress.
The six former cabinet members include Rowell Lyngdoh, Prestone Tynsong, HDR Lyngdoh, RC Laloo, AL Hek and M Ampareen Lyngdoh are hoping to make it into the cabinet. But Hek is unlikely to get a berth.
The other probably names that are being talked about are that of Meghalaya PCC working president Deborah C Marak, Zenith M Sangma, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, Celestine Lyngdoh and Martin M. Danggo.- By Our Reporter
