SHILLONG, AUG 18: In view of the upcoming Bye-Election, 2018 to 51-South Tura (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency, a review meeting on law and order plan and security arrangements was held at DRDA Conference Hall, Tura on Saturday in the presence of General Observer, Benudhar Behera. The meeting was by chaired by the District Election Officer, Ram Singh.
During the meeting, the Inspector General of CRPF of North Eastern Sector, Prakash D informed the gathering that the bye-election is keenly being watched by all and to be alert on group clashes, communication, intelligence, behaviour of men in uniform with regards to voters especially women and liquor consumption by men in uniform while on duty.
DIG, Western Range, O Passi, Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, Dr. M G R Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, A M Sangma, Officers of CRPF, ITBP were among others present at the meeting.
