SHILLONG, JUN 1: A review meeting on the status report and implementation of various schemes and programmes under the Ministry of Rural Development and other Ministries under West Garo Hills District was chaired by the Member of Parliament and Chairman, District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), Shri Conrad K Sangma, at Rongram, MFC Conference Hall, Rongram, Community and Rural Development Block.
Former Rajya Sabha MP, Thomas A Sangma, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura, Pravin Bakshi, Additional Deputy Commissioners’, West Garo Hills, D D Shira, Smti Sabrella B Marak, Block Development Officers of entire West Garo Hills District, Officials of line departments, Members of DISHA and people of the area were among others who attended the meeting.
While delivering his keynote address, Conrad Sangma informed that monitoring of all centrally sponsored schemes in the district is necessary for effective implementation of the schemes for the interest of the people and over all development of the region. He also urged upon all departments to work together and explore ways and means to enhance accountability and delivery mechanism at all levels.
During the review meeting, the concerned line departments of West Garo Hills District made a power point presentation of their schemes and programmes implemented by their respective departments. Special time had also been allotted to the public to address their queries and grievances during Public Hearing.
Schemes reviewed during the review meeting includes Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), IAY, PMAY, NSAP, NRLM, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), etc.
Meanwhile, review of MPLADS, Mission Skill India, Central Schemes of Urban Affairs department, RGGVY and other Central schemes of entire Garo Hills districts was held yesterday at Circuit House, Tura chaired by Shri Conrad K Sangma where Deputy Commissioners’ and officials of all Garo Hills region attended the said meeting.
