SHILLONG, JUNE 24: The state government has submitted the clarifications sought by the Governor V Shanmuganathan on the KHAD (Village Administration) Bill, 2015 passed by the KHADC and is now waiting for his assent.
“We have submitted our clarifications to the Governor, with regards to his queries and observations on the VAB of the KHADC,” Meghalaya district council affairs (DCA) minister HDR Lyngdoh told newsmen on Wednesday.
According to him, the clarifications were submitted after getting the approval from chief minister Mukul Sangma and also the DCA minister. “We are now waiting for the Governor to give his assent to the VAB,” Lyngdoh said.
Shanmuganathan had returned the VAB bill last week seeking clarification on minor clauses of the bill. Earlier, reports suggested that the state government would soon put the VAB in public domain in compliance with the suggestion of the Governor.- By Our Reporter
