SHILLONG, MAR 23: Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Wednesday said the process is on to facilitate peace talks with the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).
Rymbui however refused to provide more details on the matter and said, “The process is on and I will not run a commentary on that I want peace to prevail that’s all.”
“We are alive to the situation. We are very firm that peace and tranquility should prevail in the state. We will try to resolve whatever issues that are there,” he said.
On the HNLC’s appeal to the government for suspending all activities against the outfit, Rymbui however said let the process start then the nitty-gritty of the matter will be looked into.
“We have already appointed our representative of the government (interlocutor). Therefore, necessary communication will be made with him at this point of time…Like I said I am not here to do a running commentary on that but I want that solution should be there that’s all,” he stated.
