SHILLONG, MAY 26: The East Khasi Hills Police said Monday that the cause of death in the Pynter assault case will only be clear once the post mortem and forensic reports are received.
SP Vivek Syiem confirmed that a post mortem was conducted following the exhumation. “After exhumation and all that, the post mortem was done on the spot but we have not got the post mortem report and we will get the clear picture only after we get the post mortem report and other forensic report,” he said.
When asked if the death was connected to the alleged assault by VDP members, Syiem said, “At this juncture I cannot say anything, only after we get the post mortem report we can say whether it was due to the assault of the VDP members or it was cause by other reasons.”
The SP also noted that police action on anticipatory bail would follow the report. “Like I said earlier, we will challenge the anticipatory bail after we get the post mortem report,” he added.
