TURA, MAY 14: Preparation for voting for the May 16 bye-election to the 2 -Tura parliamentary elections got underway with the polling parties leaving for their respective polling stations on Saturday
Those who have been assignment duties to far-flung areas in Garo hills have started leaving for their destinations today. 96 polling parties have left for their respective polling stations in the three assembly segments of South West Garo hills on Saturday.
The remaining 14 polling parties will leave for their polling stations, located closer to the district headquarters, on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, training for receiving officers for receipt of poll materials was conducted at Ampati MFC on Saturday afternoon.-From Our Correspondent
