SHILLONG, FEB 25: Shillong traffic police have warned of stern action against tourist cabbies who charge extra besides causing inconveniences to the passengers. East Khasi hills SP M Kharkhrang said that the passengers are requested to inform police if they (tourist taxis) refuse to drop them at Khyndailad and also if they demand extra charge.
Kharkhrang said the passenger give full details of such vehicles that charge them extra..
The decision came after complaints were received that the tourist taxis coming to Shillong from Guwahati were refusing to drop passengers to Kyndailad and also demanding extra charge if the passengers insist. Kharkhrang said all tourist taxis are reminded that they should drop passengers up to Khyndailad and then park in their designated parking lot. – By Our Reporter
