SHILLONG, JULY 11: A report on the compliance by the petrol pumps operating across the state was recently submitted to the Centre government, officials said today.
This was after a surprise checking was conducted by a Centre’s constituted Task Force comprising of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Supply department and Legal Metrology department on May earlier this year.
There are a total 192 petrol pumps spread across the 11 districts of the state of Meghalaya.
“We have conducted a surprise checking on petrol pumps the report and its findings of which have been submitted to the government,” Controller of Legal Metrology IW Ingty told reporters here on Tuesday.
Asked, he said, “On verifying the standard of dispensing unit, register and test measures mandatory to be kept by the petrol pumps were found to be intact.”
