Permanent Nongrem stage

SHILLONG, OCT 12: Lok Sabha Congress MP Vincent H Pala on Wednesday inaugurated the permanent stage at Nongkrem village in East Khasi hills district.

The permanent stage at Nongkrem, a village where the popular traditional dance festival is held annually, was constructed under the MP scheme.

Addressing on the occasion, Pala lauded the effort of the Trust Committee constituted by the village dorbar in ensuring the successful completion of the stage.

Also present during the function were BDO of Mawryngkneng C&RD Block L Kynjing, Asst Engineer S Nongseij, headmen of the different localities of Nongkrem, members of the Trust Committee and others.

According to the chairman of Nongkrem Dorbar Pyllun Bhalang Lyngdoh, the permanent stage will cater to the needs of the village in holding various programme.-By Our Reporter
