SHILLONG, AUG 31: The state government on Monday approved the proposal to extend the retirement benefits to the deficit lower primary schools to ensure social security for the teachers.
Addressing pressmen after a cabinet meeting on Monday, chief minister Mukul Sangma said, “We have approved the proposal of the education department to extend the retirement benefit to the non-government deficit lower primary schools in the state.”
According to him, while the benefit was already extended to deficit non-government schools of the upper primary, secondary and higher secondary schools teachers, the lower primary however were not covered.
Similarly, the extension of contributory provident fund to the deficit non-government lower primary schools in the state was also approved by the government, Sangma informed.- By Our Reporter
