SHILLONG, MAR 18: The Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) said it is keen to cooperate with the directives and advisories of the Centre and State governments on issue of COVID-19.
“As a Church we are keen to cooperate with the directives and advisories to ensure that our members, officers, employees, church ministers follow the advice provided by the government,” PCI senior administrative secretary Rev GS Lyttan said in a statement issued here on Wednesday.
He said the PCI has also instruct all the Synods, its constituent units to provide specific guidance within their particular context, trusting that together we will respond responsibly, timely and above all in a way that demonstrates concern and care for others.
“Following on government’s advisory, we believe that the Synods take proactive in the advice provided. While keen to ensure that we do not raise people’s fears, we believe in the need to show our care and concern in a way that demonstrates a willingness to do what we can do to protect others. We also believe that as a Church we should now emphasize the seriousness of this situation, both to our own personal health and particularly the health of others,” he said.
The PCI also appeal to members of all local churches, families and invidiauls to prioritise in their prayers for God’s intervention and protection and also His Divine healing on COVID patients nationally and globally, Rev Lyttan said.
