SHILLONG, MAR 12: Eighteen parliamentary secretaries were sworn in on Tuesday immediately after the eleven cabinet ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Meghalaya governor RS Mooshahary at Raj Bhavan.
Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma administered the oath of office and secrecy in the conference hall of the main secretariat. In the previous government parliamentary secretaries were sworn in much after the cabinet ministers.
However, it appears that Sangma did not want to keep the swearing in ceremony of the parliamentary secretaries for a later date.
Nine Independent legislators Stephanson Mukhim, Justine Dkhar), Robinus Syngkon), Comingone Ymbon, Samuel M Sangma , Brigady Marak, Rophul S Marak , Michael T Sangma and Ashahel D Shira were among the eighteen parliamentary secretaries to be sworn in.
Seven Congress legislators were also part of the eighteen parliamentary secretaries to be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Sangma. The Congress legislators who were sworn in include Kennedy Khyriem, Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh, Limison D Sangma, Winnerson D Sangma, Cherak W Momin, Sengnam Marak, Noverfield R Marak.
NCP legislators Marathon Sangma and NESDP Lamboklang Mylliem also took the oath of office and secrecy as the parliamentary secretaries.- By Our Reporter
