SHILLONG, JAN 10: A State Level Workshop on MRVC review and Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme was held here today at the NHM Conference Hall, Health Complex, Shillong which was chaired by Pravin Bakshi, IAS, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare cum Mission Director, NHM, Meghalaya.
Bakshi informed that out of 11,56,036 children, 10,67,655 were vaccinated during MRVC taking the State to achieve a total of 92 percent.
While commending the efforts of the District M C H Officers and their team he said that every district had its own set of challenges and though the State has achieved 92 percent the target to achieve 95 percent would be intensified in the days ahead.
He added that areas where more number of children are to be covered would be identified with a special focus on refusal areas and check the size of the refusal pockets.
He further said that in districts where coverage percentage is low dedicated cells would be created to make calls to private hospitals, schools and community about the importance of the vaccination.
