SHILLONG, DEC 15: Martin Luther Christian University Counselling Psychology department on Thursday spread a little Christmas joy among the children of God’s Dream Home, an orphanage run by the Now Generation Outreach Revival Assembly.
The day started off by taking the children out to Golflinks followed by games and songs and gifts for the children of the home.
The orphanage which is situated in Lumshyiap, Shillong houses a total of 26 children ranging from 10 months old to 18 years old, among them there are 17 boys while the rest are girls.
The students of MLCU from the department of Counselling Psychology organised different games for the children and also told Biblical stories to the children.
Clothes, toys and other items were also collected from the students, faculty and staff across the university and presented to one of the supervisors of the home.
The orphanage was established in March this year in a rented building but there are plans for a more permanent setup in the near future. All the children from the home study at the Shining Light Academy School, Mawlai Motsyiar.
Speaking to the MLCU students, the children of the home expressed joy and happiness of having such a special day planned just for them and said they enjoyed the day thoroughly.
