SHILLONG, MAY 19: The National People’s Party (NPP) state youth leader and Cabinet Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Tuesday said the party will contest the upcoming Rajya Sabha seat from Meghalaya, with a formal decision expected after a party meeting next week.
Asked about the NPP’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha MP seat, Shylla said a meeting has not been convened yet. “As of now I cannot say because a meeting has not been called till today,” he told reporters. “I think in the coming week, we will definitely have a meeting. By then it will be clear.”
He confirmed that the candidate would be from the NPP. “It will be from NPP,” Shylla said.
