SHILLONG, AUG 18: BJP leader and six-time Pynthorumkhrah MLA Alexander Laloo Hek on Monday said he does not see any threat from the rise of other political parties in his constituency.
He said every party has the right to contest anywhere in the state.
“All political parties have every right to rise in any constituency. There is nothing wrong to rise only in my constituency. There are 60 constituencies. We should spread in all 60 constituencies to get a better government,” Hek told reporters.
On being asked about the VPP’s growing presence in Pynthorumkhrah, the veteran legislator said he has faced multiple opponents over 30 years.
“I have experienced this for 30 years. So many have contested against me… not only one candidate but there are so many candidates in the fray. But I don’t feel any threat by this,” he said.
