SHILLONG, JUL 7: A conglomeration of seven NGOs has sought a special appointment with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for discussion on various issues which include the demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state.
A letter on this regard was submitted to the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday.
The NGOs include the Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) Khasi students Union (KSU), Garo Students Union (GSU), Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF), A’chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) & Association for Democracy & Empowerment (ADE).
“(We) request you to make a special appointment with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah so that the prominent pressure groups of the state could get a chance to discuss issues like implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) and some important issues concerning the indigenous people of the state during his visit,” they said in the letter.
