New faces are non-corrupt: Congress

SHILLONG, FEB 10: The Congress on Friday said it has decided to contest the upcoming assembly elections with more than 30 young fresh faces, who have unblemished track-records and clear vision for their respective constituencies.

The party has shown faith in the youths of Meghalaya who will help the party to recapture the glory of the state as the corrupt old faces backstabbed the party for the greed of money and power.

“The old faces used the party to come to power and fulfilled their personal interest while in power. But they left the party to join the Bengal-based Bengali party and other parties to fulfill their monetary ambitions also to be in power” said Manish Chatrath, AICC Incharge Meghalaya.

The party said the new faces of the INC are fresh and most of them are going to contest the upcoming Meghalaya Assembly Election for the first time.  It’s like kids starting their early life.

The new faces are non-corrupt, many of them highly educated having good professional background, 26 to 46 year old young people who all are fighting to make Meghalaya 5 Star, more ambitious to work for the state.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Vincent Pala said that Meghalaya needs change. “Meghalaya needs a new beginning, Meghalaya needs to be free from corruption and scams and Congress is the only answer to all the problems that afflict this beautiful land of Meghalaya,” he said.

The Congress leaders also said that having grassroots workers in the state of Meghalaya will help the party recapture the glory of the state where the party mostly focuses on the youths, as 81,000 first-time voters are there in the state.
