SHILLONG, OCT 30: The four new departments introduced in the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura campus started the first academic session recently. The new departments that were introduced are Agri-business Management & Food Technology, Horticulture, Computer Science and, History and Archaeology and a new program of study the MBA service Management.
Speaking on during the inauguration of these new departments, Prof Milton Sangma appreciated the academic contribution of the campus in the development of north eastern region in particular and the country in general. He encouraged the start of the four departments in the NEHU Tura campus including the new MBA programme..
Pro-Vice Chancellor of NEHU, Tura campus, Prof ED Thomas highlighted the various initiatives taken up by the campus such as shifting of the departments to the permanent campus and the opening of various new academic departments and programmes during the session 2013-14. He has also focused on the future growth and development of NEHU, Tura campus.
The faculty members, non-teaching staffs of NEHU and other dignitaries attended the inauguration function. The office bearers of civil societies, ngos, nokmas, government officials attended the function.- By Our Reporter
