SHILLONG, FEB 10: Justice Tarun Agarwala will be sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court on February 12, officials today said.
The oath will be administered by the Governor Ganga Prasad at the Raj Bhavan, they said.
Justice Agarwala was appointed as the new CJ of the Meghalaya High Court by the President of India on February 6.
The new chief justice will replace Justice Dinesh Maheshwari who was transferred to Karnataka High Court.
The Meghalaya High Court was established in March 2013, after making suitable amendments in the Constitution of India and North-Eastern Areas Act 1971.
