NEHUNSA refutes Umdor’s claims, alleges misleading info

SHILLONG, DEC 17: The North Eastern Hill University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNSA) has refuted claims made by the former Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof S Umdor, regarding achievements during his tenure.
In a statement on Wednesday, NEHUNSA stated, “We are in a state of shock and disarray about the achievements claimed by the former Pro Vice-Chancellor, wherein it was stated that under his tenure the August Office has accomplished major task which includes the Promotion of the Non-Teaching employees through Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).”
NEHUNSA clarified that no Non-Teaching employees have received promotions, contradicting the former Pro Vice-Chancellor’s claim.
The association also disputed the claim of finalization of advertisement for recruiting Non-Teaching employees, stating that the previous advertisement has lapsed and is yet to be cancelled.
“We wish to clarify that till date none of the Non-Teaching employees have got any Promotion, which was one of our Agenda brought forth to the office of the Authority,” NEHUNSA said.
The association questioned the former Pro Vice-Chancellor’s claims, stating that NEHUNSA was never made aware of the finalization of advertisement for recruiting Non-Teaching employees.
NEHUNSA has expressed its disappointment and shock at the claims made by the former Pro Vice-Chancellor and has brought the matter to the attention of the general public.
