SHILLONG, JAN 24: The 4th National Voters Day will be celebrated on Saturday at U SoSo Tham auditorium in from 10.30 am. As part of the celebration the state election department in collaboration with the Meghalaya Athletic Association will conduct a ‘Run for Democracy 2014’ (Marathon) at 7.30 am.
The organizers of this event will distribute certificate and cash prize to the winner of the Marathon. The election department making the Marathon as part of the event to create awareness among the voters.The National Voter’s Day on Saturday will also be celebrated in all polling stations and all government offices of the district.
The celebration will be held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner Office at 12 noon.
The Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Khasi Hills together with the office of the District Sports Officer, West Khasi Hills District, and Nongstoin will also conduct an open 10.5 kms road race (Quarter Marathon) for men & women, boys and girls within West Khasi hills district.
The competition is open for entries only from 32-Nongstoin, 33-Rambrai Jyrngam & 34-Mawshynrut constituencies as part of the National Voters Day celebration. – By Our Reporter
