National Tribal Festival

SHILLONG, FEB 9: Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs will organize the National Tribal Festival in New Delhi from 13February to 18. Meghalaya will also participate in the festival. The major activities at the festival will include tribal dance and music, art and crafts, traditional medicines and medical practices, traditional sport and caper, traditional food items and display of books/films on tribal theme and seminars.

According to Ministry of Tribal Affairs secretary the objective of the festival is to showcase tribal life in a big way in the national capital which also provide a unique opportunity to closely observe and sense different aspects of vibrant tribal culture of the country, adding that this festival will also help in promoting tourism and eco-tourism in all the participating states.- By Our Reporter
