TURA, MAY 30: Meghalaya police on Sunday arrested a suspect in connection with a murder of a teenager Joshibur Rahman from Horipur village, near Rajabala in West Garo hills who was abducted on May 26. A day after his abduction his body was found hanging from a tree. His hands were tied with plastic and his body bore marks of brutal assault.
Son of a teacher 16-year-old Joshibur had passed his SSLC examination, the result of which was declared on May 25.
Family members told media that Joshibur had gone out with friends towards evening, when unidentified persons abducted him.
Police said that Sahirul Islam, 22 was arrested yesterday and produced in court today. He has been sent for 10 days police custody.
“He was arrested from Horipur village based on clues about his involvement. Interrogation is on”, said Mukesh Singh, superintendent of police, West Garo Hills.-From Our Correspondent
