Shillong, August 25: Police Saturday arrested the husband of Aibisitdora Sohtun, Sebastian Kharsyntiew and a Sumo driver Remiki War in connection with her murder. A mobile phone belonging to the deceased was recovered from War.
The police first arrested Sohtun’s husband and later the Sumo driver was also arrested.
Sohtun body was found on August 17 from Mawkham tourist viewpoint near Mawkajem village on the Shillong-Dawki road. Her face was mutilated. A mother of five, she was a resident of Mawlai- Mawdatbaki. She was an employee of the Meghalaya excise department.
Police are interrogating the two suspected to be behind the murder of Sohtun. According to police Sohtun knew Kharsyntiew and she had contacted him for booking his sumo for a trip to Dawki.
Police, however, did not reveal as to how the husband of Sohtun is suspected to be behind the murder of his wife. Police said that the investigation is still going on and they would get to the bottom of the case that led to the murder of Sohtun- By Our Reporter
