SHILLONG, OCT 9: The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association (MUPSTA), Nongstoin District Unit held its general meeting at Ri Khasi Free Morning UP School, Nongstoin recently.
The meeting was presided over by the Unit President B Khardewsaw and was attended by the state leaders which include the general secretary RR Ronghang and the Organising cum Publicity Secretary EG War.
Addressing the gathering, Ronghang said that the MUPSTA will try to extend its functioning to all the block level in the whole State of Meghalaya as a part of the grass root level campaign to enable the teachers to join with the Association.
He also presented a short report regarding the participation of the MUPSTA in the agitational programmes organized by the JACATAM for the last five years from 2012-2017.
On the other hand, War in his speech said that the MUPSTA is not a new association in the state and it is also gearing up to celebrate its 25 years journey in 2018.
Further, War said that unity in the association is the need of the hour to ensure the government considers the demand for recognizing them as full fledged Deficit teachers by 2018. Further he also called on the teachers to be wise and not to be misled by the self interested Association. Moreover, he said that the teachers should understand that the MUPSTA stands for their right but not the self interested associations.
