SHILLONG, JAN 22: The Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation and Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation on Tuesday conducted a joint inspection of the Hotel Crowborough project to monitor the progress of work.
The inspection was led by MTDC chairman Sanbor Shullai and MIDC chairman Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar. They were accompanied by officials from both the departments.
During the inspection it was informed by the project in-charge that the work is in progress and the soft opening of the hotel will be done by January 2020.
The hotel has partnered with France based Accor hotel groups and Novotel the international acclaimed hotel brand from Accor group will make its debut in the capital city.
The hotel has the capacity to provide jobs to 150 people as informed by the project in charge.
Later during a meeting, Shullai has asked the project in-charge to employ locals as there are plenty of local youth who are now trained to work in hotel industry and also give opportunity to local contractors to execute the work so as to promote self employment.
