SHILLONG, DEC 24: The Meghalaya Retired College Teachers’ Association (MRCTA) is deeply shocked at the sad demise of Margaret M Mawlong, IAS, former Director of Public Instructions, Government of Meghalaya, former Chairperson, Meghalaya Board of School Education, former Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, and also former Registrar, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
She passed away on December 23, at her residence at Shillong.
In its condolence message, the association Late Mawlong was a very amiable person and had been related to the welfare of College Teachers of Meghalaya in number of ways.
The older generations of college teachers of Meghalaya fondly remember the number of occasions of acquittances with her. She also helped a number of educational institutions through different initiatives and capacities.
In addition to discharging academic and administrative roles in different capacities with utmost sincerity and efficiency, she also remained very active in social activities extending her immense experience for the cause of welfare of people and society.
“While paying respectful homage to the memory of MR Mawlong, the MRCTA shares the sorrow and pain of the bereaved family. The MRCTA also wishes that the family will derive enough strength from the sweet memories of love and affection of Late.Mawlong, and be able to cope up with the inevitability of life,” the association said.
