MPCC MOURNS LOSS OF LIVES

SHILLONG, MAR 1: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today expressed sorrow over the loss of several lives in the recent road accident in West Khasi Hills District.

MPCC chief D.D. Lapang shared a condolence meeting at the Congress Bhavan where members from West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee, and Rambrai –Jyrngam and Nongstoin Block Congress Committees attended.

It may be mentioned that 17 people died and several others were injured when an over speeding truck overturned at Nongspung village in the district on Sunday last. The truck was on its way to Nonglang for a church gathering.

While praying for the eternal rest of the departed souls, the meeting expressed condolence with the bereaved family and also prayed to the Almighty to grant them strength and solace.

The meeting also expressed sympathy with those Church goers who were seriously injured following the fatal accident and presently undergoing treatment in different hospitals.
