TURA, NOV 6: The annual management fest – Mosaic 2016- ended at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Tura campus on Saturday. It gave the students of the university to showcase their skills in different arts, sports and cultural activities.
The fest began with a marathon run from Chandmary playground, which was flagged off by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof G Singaiah and Mosaic coordinator Dr. Sunildro Akoijam.
During the inaugural programme at NEHU campus, Dr. Akoijam welcomed the guests and participants from different parts of Meghalaya, who had come to take part in the two-day fest.
Prof. JU Ahmed, Advisor, MOSAIC 2016, introduced the theme: Inspiring the minds and stressed on importance of creativity and innovative ideas in today’s era.
Prof. G Singaiah stressed on the relevance of the theme for the budding managers and the uniqueness of the event. He further focused on how such kind of event will motivate the students from various Institutes and colleges to come forward and initiate something, which is creative and different from what others have done.
Dr S Joseph asserted on role of educational institutes in shaping the nation. He further highlighted how this kind of event will help the students to enhance their various forms of skills, which are essential ingredients of success in both personal and professional life.
Various events in two broad categories; Literary and cultural were successfully conducted on both days. Literary events included debate, extempore speech, quiz, case study, ad-making etc. Cultural events included song competition, dance competition, beat contest, Miss Mosaic 2016 etc. Students from various colleges and institutes from Guwahati, Shillong, Williamnagar, Bahgmara, Tura etc participated in various events of the Fest.-From Our Correspondent
