SHILLONG, APR 2: An angry mob in Baghmara killed a A’chik National Liberation Army (ANLA) militant identified as Simpong Momin on Wednesday morning after three of the militants terrorized people by shooting and injuring two people on the legs at crowded Jadi Market at about 8:30 am.
It is learnt that two militants who was later joined by their colleague shot at three people hitting two of them on their legs.
Angry mob thrashed one of the militants to death while serious injuring another who was rushed to the Williamnagar hospital for treatment.
The third militant however escaped unhurt. The injured cadre is yet to be identified.
There is still no clarity on why the militants shot the three people. South Garo hills police were unavailable for comment and the exact nature of the incident could not be confirmed.- By Our Reporter
