SHILLONG, MAR 20: The missing 150 metric ton (MT) of CGI sheets has affected over 500 beneficiaries in East Khasi hills district. Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma replied during a question hours on Friday in the assembly, “About 500 beneficiaries from the district have not received the CGI sheets sanctioned by the government.”
Sangma said, “We have lodged an FIR on this regard and investigation is still going on.”
Earlier, UDP legislator Embhahlang Syiemlieh expressed concern over the delay in the release of CGI sheets to the beneficiaries of Mawlai constituency. Informing that there were 53 beneficiaries from Mawlai, Sangma said, “As per record, it indicated that all the beneficiaries have receive the CGI sheets.”
Echoing similar concerned, UDP legislator Metbah Lyngdoh said that under Mairang block, out of 80 beneficiaries, only 30 have receive the CGI sheets while the rest are yet to get. – By Our Reporter
