SHILLONG, MAY 2: Opposition chief whip and legislator from Mawlai Process T Sawkmie has expressed dissatisfaction over the implementation of the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS-IV) in his constituency.
“…the enrollment of MHIS-IV at Mawlai constituency is not successful as one expected,” Sawkmie said in a letter to the health minister AL Hek on Thursday.
He said the main reason is due to lack of manpower and machines although the response of the people in all the localities and villages is very good.
Stating that around 80 percent of the people are left out, Sawkmie also requested the health minister to consider sending back the team to the various localities to take the enrollment on the spot to ensure all people get registered.
According to him, the arrangement by the District Health Service (DHS) for those people who were left out to go and visit the office for enrollment is not practical.
