SHILLONG, JAN 19: Meghalaya’s Director General of Police (DGP Rajiv Mehta is likely to join in the first week of February. He was slated to join on January 16 but his papers work at the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) could not be completed on time. Sources in Meghalaya police headquarter told this website that Mehta is likely to join in the first week of February. The sources said, “As the paper works at the NCB could not be completed on time, he will be joining any day in February first week.”
Mehta’s name as the next Meghalaya DGP was zeroed down from among the five senior most Assam-Meghalaya IPS officer. Mehta had earlier served as the Meghalaya’s additional DGP before he was posted out as the NCB director general.- By Our Reporter
