SHILLONG, SEPT 27: Meghalaya’s flagship programme the Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Promotion Programme (IBDLP) won the main SKOCH award for being a critical reforms measure at the 41st SKOCH Summit on Transformative Governance held on September 23 at a glittering function at the India Habitat Centre New Delhi.
It was indeed a proud moment for the Meghalaya government and its official when their flagship programme IBDLP initially awarded the SKOCH Order of Merit for qualifying amongst India’s best in smart governance eventually won the main SKOCH award.
IBDLP was selected for its performance from amongst over a thousand entries across the country by a panel of distinguished
Order of Merit was also awarded to three e-Governance projects viz. (i) e-Registration of Tax dealers for Taxation Department, Govt. Of Meghalaya, (ii) ICAR expert SMS service to farmers and (iii) KIRAN Tracking System.
Aiban Swer, Director of MBDA, Dr. SV Ngachan, Director of ICAR Umiam, Dr. Arnab Sen, Principal Scientist and Coordinator, at KIRAN, ICAR, Umiam, Benos Lyngskor, Technical Director of NIC Shillong and other NIC officials were present during the award ceremony.
The summit was inaugurated by M Venkaiah Naidu, union minister of urban development in the presence of Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, Sameer Kochhar chairman of Skoch group and Dr M Ramachandran, former secretary Urban Development, Government of India.- By Our Reporter
