SHILLONG, AUG 19: Former Meghalaya chief minister and Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president who is also the chairman of the North East Congress Co-ordination Committee (NECCC) DD Lapang met Karnataka Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah and the Karnataka PCC president G.Parameshwara Lapang pursued with Siddaramaia the request of Meghalaya government for allotment of a plot of land in Bengaluru for construction of a Meghalaya House. He apprised the Karnataka chief minister of a large number of people from Meghalaya visiting the city every year, as tourists and students and therefore impressed upon him the need to have a Meghalaya house there.
It is learnt that Siddaramaia assured Lapang that he would direct the concerned department to look into the matter. Parameshwara also urged upon his chief minister to take forward the request of the Meghalaya government at the earliest. –By Our Reporter
