SHILLONG, MAR 18: The Meghalaya government on Wednesday lifted the ban on mobile internet in the five districts of the Garo Hills region
The ban was imposed on March 11, following violent protests linked to the GHADC elections, which was recently revoked by the state government.
“The notificatioin…dated March 11, 2026 issued for West Garo Hills District, East Garo Hills District, South Garo Hills District, North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills District is hereby revoked with immediate effect,” said a notification issued by the Principal Secretary in-charge Home (Political) FR Kharkongor.
