SHILLONG, OCT 3: The Inquiry Committee probing alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Staff Nurses at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin, has invited shortlisted candidates to come forward and record their statements.
The two-member committee comprising the Executive Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills, is examining allegations relating to irregularities, illegal gratification, bribery, extortion and coercion in the selection process.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, the committee said candidates who faced any demand for illegal gratification, extortion, coercion or any other irregularity before, during or after the interview may appear before the panel.
Candidates can submit written complaints or corroborative evidence including audio/video recordings, message logs and details of financial transactions, wherever available.
The recording of statements will be held from October 5 to 9, between 10 AM and 4 PM, at Room No. 108, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin.
Assuring protection to witnesses, the committee said, “The identities of candidate-witnesses and their testimonies will be kept strictly confidential to protect them from any victimisation or harassment.”
The panel has encouraged candidates to assist the inquiry to ensure a fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment process.
