SHILLONG, SEPT 7: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has asked all affiliated institutions to maintain an average pass percentage of 50 per cent in the board’s examinations failing which they may be liable for de-affiliation.
In a statement issued here, MBOSE executive chairman Pravin Bakshi said that as per the MBOSE Regulation for Affiliation (Chapter iv.2i), all affiliated institutions are required to maintain an average pass percentage of 50% in the board examinations.
He however said in the past three years’ record of the SSLC and HSSLC Examinations indicate that many institutions have failed to maintain the said criteria.
Taking serious note of this, Bakshi said the board hereby cautions all such institution to take necessary measures in order to achieve satisfactory pass percentage in the coming years.
“Failing which the Board will take necessary action as per the Regulations, which may include de-affiliation, if necessary (Chapter vi.1ii),” he added.
