SHILLONG, NOV 28: One Leiki Rymbai has been convicted and sentenced to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for committing sexual offenses against a minor.
The court of B Khriam, Special Judge POCSO, East Jaintia Hills District in her order said, “Leiki Rymbai has been found guilty under section 6(1) of the POCSO Act and is sentence to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 25 years and to pay a fine of ₹1,00,000.”
The case was registered at Khliehriat Women Police Station in 2023, and the investigation was conducted by WPSI JM Kurbah.
The accused has also been sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of ₹5,000.
