Drumming up support for NPP candidate for Shillong parliamentary constituency Ampareen Lyngdoh, party’s national general secretary and deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Thursday asked leaders from Jaintia Hills to work unitedly to ensure victory to the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at a meeting organized at the community hall of Wahiajer village under Nartiang constituency, Dhar said, “We have to work hard and work unitedly to ensure victory of the party from the Shillong constituency.”
He informed that very soon, the party would also organize meetings with different stakeholders to seek their support for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
In her speech, Lyngdoh, who is also cabinet minister and sitting legislator of East Shillong, appealed to the people of Nartiang and Jowai constituency to vote for her in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Lyngdoh said that people have elected the sitting MP, who hardly speaks about the various schemes of the Centre related to health care, scholarship and others.
She said in fact, the delay of the State to get the inner line permit (ILP) should have been taken up in the parliament.
She also assured that soon the AYUSH hospital will be inaugurated at Mookyndur in the district. The project was sanctioned at Rs 10 crore.
The NPP candidate also addressed a meeting at Jowai, which was attended by party workers and supporters.
