Shilling, Nov 26: The militant outfit A’chik National Liberation Council (ANVC-B) leader Rimpu N Marak has alleged that “some of the listed Congress candidates have affiliation to GNLA” even as he has questioned as to why the former deputy chief minister and Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee working president Deborah Marak did not apprise the AICC of what the “Mukul government is bringing on the Congress as a whole.”
In a press statement release to the media Monday afternoon, even as Marak assured that the ANVC-B will support a “free and fair election” to allow true public leaders to emerge from the election, it said that in the past, leaders bought votes and only wealthy triumphed, but this time in order to bring about changes to the Garos, the election will have to be fair at all level.”
Commenting on the Congress ticket aspirants Marak said, “It is surprising to see a line-up which comes from one particular camp of the party which undoubtedly have GNLA backing,” and added,“We have been apprising of the ‘nexus’ and now the plan is visible as the GNLA has maintain low profile in last few weeks which is intended to show results before the election.”
Asserting that all armed group in the jungle are not GNLA anymore, the ANVC-B leader said, “We knew about the plan so we did our homework.”
Speaking about the attack on Deborah Marak Marak said, “We have nothing against Deborah but we are against the irresponsible leaders and the wrong system of campaigning.” He further said that he expect a lady of her position to apprise AICC of what the Mukul government is bringing on the Congress as a whole. –By Our Reporter
