SHILLONG, AUG 30: Cross border international liquor smuggler were apprehended by the BSF of BOP Chichingpara deployed in South Garo hills while they were trying to infiltrate to India from Bangladesh to obtained consignment of liquor from their Indian associates.Both the persons are Bangladeshi nationals identified as Md. Roman Miya (19 yrs), and Asadul Jamal (18 yrs), both residents of Vill-Samaschura, PS-Nalitabari, Distt-Sherpur in Bangladesh.
They confessed that they were infiltrating into Indian territory from Bangladesh to obtain a consignment of liquor from the Indian associates. They were accompanied with one more Bangladeshi national who escaped from the IB itself on seeing the BSF troops.
In another incident, the BSF troops also seized 170 bottles of liquor from the bordering areas of Ryngku and Bholaganj, East Khasi hills which was being smuggled into Bangladesh from India. The smuggler left the consignment after seeing the BSF troops approaching him.-By Our Reporter
