Lajong sacks Liberian player for indiscipline

Shillong, Nov 1: Shillong Lajong FC sacked its Liberian midfielder Johnny Menyongar

for an ‘act of indiscipline’ Wednesday. It is learnt that Menyongar has been creating a rift within the players and also complaining about petty things.

Menyongar, who had captained Shillong Lajong in the last season, is now out of the team. Lajong is not looking for a replacement as sources said that the team is happy with three foreign players. The Liberian midfielder had join Shillong Lajong from United Sikkim FC.  Menyongar contract with Shillong Lajong is till the end of the I-League this season.

Sources also said Menyongar played a vital role in creating rift between former
coach P. Reddy and Aibor Khonjee.  As a matter of fact Reddy did not fielded Khonjee
in the last season. Khonjee now has joined Kolkotta giant Mohun Bagan and is in
the first eleven of club.

It may be mentioned here that Lajong management had parted ways with Khonjee because of the rift.

Shillong Lajong management is expected to release an official statement Thursday about the sacking of its Liberian midfielder.-By Our Reporter
